In December 2014, power industry giant ABB successfully delivered 1200kV AC circuit breaker at a national test station in Bina, Madhya Pradesh, India,enhance the circuit breaker voltage level of new milestone. The 1200kV incoming and outgoing line composite bushing used is manufactured by PEIPORT.

India is adding a significant amount of power generation capacity to meet growing demand, which in turn requires an efficient and reliable transmission and distribution infrastructure to deliver power to consumers. Transmission at higher voltages increases the amount of power transmitted and greatly reduces transmission losses, while saving space and reducing environmental impacts.
